Molly grew up in Pennsylvania and started to perform professionally in the teen years at the Philadelphia's Prince Music Theater. Her first production as a professional was The Snow Queen. Following that, Molly portrayed Little Red Ridinghood for the Arden Theater s Into the Woods and was nominated to win a Barrymore Award. After her Broadway debut at the tender age of 15 she reprised the character and received a Drama League Award. Molly performed in Broadway in the 2004 production of Fiddler on the Roof. She attended Princeton University as a Triangle Club member and graduated with a B.A. In Religion. In that time she debuted in the role of Wendy Greenhut in Disney's College Road Trip. Molly's career continued after the graduation ceremony with a variety of Off Broadway productions, one of those was End Days by Ensemble Studio Theater. Molly also worked on television in Royal Pains as well as an HBO Pilot The Wonderful Maladys. Molly was in a variety of regional shows, such as The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, at Barrington Stage Company, North Shore Music Theatre as well as Westport Country Playhouse's 2010 production of The Diary of Anne Frank. She played Anne. Molly's most well-known role was on the set of Paranormal Activity 2 (2010) where she plays Ali her teenage daughter. She also starred in Last Man Standing (an ABC comedy written by and starring Tim Allen) and Jack Burditt's The 25th Annual County Spelling Bee, which was held in 2008.
